Jaron “Boots” Ennis has announced that he is going to super-waster weight and leave the IBF and WBA-Welterweight titles in the process.
The undefeated American, 27, has been one of the highlights in Welterweight in recent years, especially with Terence Crawford who left the division after he had become undisputed in July 2023, and Errol Spence JR is no longer in boxes since loss of Crawford that month.
Ennis Long Eyed a fight with Crawford, but the only fight by the latter since the beating of Spence JR took place on super-absorption, where he collected the WBA title with a victory over Israil Madrimov last August. And now Crawford is preparing for a super-mid-weight Megafight with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, the undisputed champion.
With Ennis’s biggest good weight after he missed him, he is ready to imitate Crawford, 37, in weight. Or does he pursue the pound-for-pound star?
While Crawford is at 167 pounds in September to Canelo, it is possible that the American could then return to 154LB. His match with Madrimov saw him competing on a career-high weight-that he will of course surpass against Canelo while he remained unbeaten and became a four-weight champion.
But whether or not the future of Crawford is at 154LB, if he even fights again after being confronted with Canelo, Boots is planning to become a two -rank champion.
“It’s time! 154,” Ennis wrote on Wednesday (June 18) on Instagram. ‘You said this where the smoke is on the right!?
“Let’s have it then! 2x Weight division Champion • 4x Time Charging Champion.”
Crawford still owns the WBA Super-Wellterweight title, while Sebastian Fundora owns the WBC and WBO rippers, and Bakhram Murtazaliev is the IBF champion.
Last Time -OUTN ENNNIS dropped out and Eimantas Stanionis stopped in the sixth round in April, while retaining the IBFwelterweight belt and the collection of the WBA version.
