Mike Lindell, the Chief Executive of MyPillow and an avid supporter of US President Donald Trump, has lost a defamation by Eric Coomer, a former director of the security and product strategy at Dominion voice systems.

A jury in Denver, Colorado, ordered Lindell on Monday to pay $ 2.3 million compensation to Coomer.

The case stemmed from Lindell’s false accusations that Coomer had helped the 2020 elections, so that Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump. During the two -week process, Lindell continued to promote unfounded claims that the Trump elections had been stolen.

Dominion -voice systems has also submitted similar slander cases against various allies of Trump, and accuses them of spreading false information about the company’s voting machines.

Coomer, who filed federal lawsuits against Lindell and two of his companies – MyPillow, Inc and Lindell TV in 2022, brought that the lies had irreparably damaged his reputation.

The lawsuit described how Coomer was subjected to frequent death threats and was unfairly labeled as part of an imagined conspiracy, who affected his name in public interest.

Following the judgment, Lindell, who went to his social media, praised the jury for not finding his other company, Lindell TV, liable for defamation.

He described the decision as “a huge victory for our country” and a blow to those who attack “American companies”. He also promised to appeal against the ruling and claimed that he was now in financial debts.

Lindell’s pronounced promotion of conspiracies of elections has led to widespread consequences.

In 2021, large American retailers stopped selling his MyPillow products and the CEO of MyPillow continued to use his legal fights as a marketing strategy.

The website of his company currently has a promotional code “jury” that offers customers a “free Multi-Use MyPillow 2.0”, in addition to a link to donate to his “Legal Defense Fund”.

This case is the last in a series of controversial legal fights that are linked to the 2020 elections. Dominion voice systems have previously sued Fox News for $ 1.6 billion for the distribution of wrong information about the elections, with the network ultimately settled for $ 787.5 million.
