Every week we involve Minnesota Vikings fans for their opinion about the purple team.
The Vikings have many storylines for the summer, but we have asked fans for the under-the-radar they follow on their way to the training camp.
The club has its first regular season races in 12 weeks, so we asked the group for storylines under the radar before the summer. Items such as the injury recovery of Christian Darrisaw will of course dominate the discourse, and rightly so.
Ask our panel: Tell us the storyline under the radar for the Vikings that you monitor this summer. For example, this would not be: “What does JJ McCarthy look like?” It would be a little more undercover than that.
This is how they answered. You can read last week’s fan contribution here.
Mekhi Blackmon’s performance
By: Steve Berglund | @Vikin18
For me it is Mekhi Blackmon. The third CB is so important. If he can stay healthy, he has the chance to be a very nice CB. That gives the Vikes a top 3 that can defend with everyone.
Ivan Pace Jr.’s next step
By: Jens | @Rednpurple77
I want to see if Ivan Pace is taking another step. He is as good as a Blitzer and he is great in Run defense. If he could only be decent, we might have a special special player.
Offensive line merger
By: Eric Horstman | @Ehorstman23
I think my storyline under the radar will how do the o-line will go together? Outside Donovan Jackson it is a line full of veterans, but they still have to have chemistry for things to go well. I believe they can pick things out quickly, but I think a lot of this year’s success will depend on how quickly that chemistry can come together.
The CB2 and CB3
By: Ivan, Tsar of Bohunks | @Up4Discussion_7

I think the storyline of whom CB2 and CB3 will be fascinating and overlooked by the attack. Byron Murphy (Traditional Slot CB) is in with 1, but can a trade or free-agent sign the signing down? Who will stand up between Blackmon, Rodgers, Nudie or Okudah?
The strange man on cornerback
By: Bruce Johnson | @sachikojohnson
There has been no position group with more speculation about adding another experienced player than cornerback, and the fact that the Vikings have not pulled the trigger seems to suggest that they might be happy with what they have. I think it is a great quality to appreciate what we have, but I look at the backend of the cornerback -roster battles and see an intriguing battle.
I see two selection places for Dwight Mcglothern and Jeff Okudah, both in which I believe; However, there are also glowing reports about the UFA, Zemaiah Vaughn. I wonder who the strange man will be. Of course it can all be decided by an injury, so it’s nice to have depth.
Offensive play balance
By: Skol Tom | @Skolfromwi
It is not extremely ‘under the radar’ story line, but rather one that is overshadowed by the storyline JJ McCarthy. The person I will concentrate on is the split between the Run and Pass game, especially with this reworked offensive line, and what the rotation of Jones and Mason will look like.
Rookies immediately stand out
By: TADD | @St7cubs
In the hope that some rookies immediately stand out. I am enthusiastic about this season, but inevitable big decisions are already in my mind. Can Tai Felton purchase some pressure from the Addison -Payment Day? Can UDFA Logan Brown look like a future starter? Something like that will be a pleasant surprise.
