Bodies of 12 victims of Air India -Crash transferred to family members so far; 31 DNA samples match

A total of 12 bodies of those killed in the Air India plane disaster in Ahmedabad were transferred to the family members until Sunday morning.

“The families from Udaipur, Vadodara, Kheda, Visnagar, Botad and Ahmedabad were the ones who took the remains of their loved ones in the crash,” said Rajnish Patel, extra super -intendent, Ahmedabad Civil Hospital told MediaPersons.

A total of 31 DNA samples, originating from the family members of those killed in the Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad, are coupled until Sunday morning, he added without specifying the number of bodies to the hospital from the accident. The samples of former Gujarat Prime Minister Vijay RUPII — One of the 242 passengers on board the fateful plane — are not yet linked, says hospital sources. “His (RUPPANIs) name is not under the list of 31 (victims whose DNA samples are matched),” Patel said adding that the DNA matching process is underway.
