The Indian skipper Shubman Gill and Kl Rahul belonged to the runs, while Shardul Thakur delivered a solid performance with the ball on day 1 of the Intra-Squad match between the Indian senior side and India A in Beckenham on Friday.

Kl Rahul had also struck scores of 116 and 51 during the second unofficial test against England Lions in Northampton.
Gill, who has a bad average of 14.66 in England and has scored only 88 points in six innings in three games here with a best score of 28, will take a lot of confidence from his knock.
Thakur, who is beating, scored 27 (in the first unofficial test) and 19 and 34 (in the second unofficial test) against England Lions and also took two wickets against them, also got a valuable playing time while fighting a young Nitish Kumar Reddy for the place of a tempo-bowling all-rounder in the team.
The first test of India against England in Leeds from 20 June will mark the start of a new era under newly appointed Captain Shubman Gill, because he wants to lead a new-look team to Glorie after retirement of Stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from Tests and Ravibandran Ashwin from International Cicket.
The series will be held from June to August 2025, with competitions planned in Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord’s and the Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
