Five foreign universities will set up campuses on a 250-hectare plot in Navi Mumbai to enable the Mumbai-Metropolitic region to appear as a worldwide educational hub, said Maharashtra Chief Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday.
During the day Letters of Intent (LOI) from the University Grants Commission (UGC) were transferred to Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) of Italy, University of West -Australia, University of York, University of Aberdeen and Illinois Tech of USA to set up campuses.
The CM said that talking about collaborating with foreign universities since 2004, but the National Education Policy (Fake) 2020 made this possible that this made this possible.
“Navi Mumbai will be converted into education. Ten universities will set up campuses in an area of more than 250 hectares to offer world class training. Accessibility and affordability are important problems with our students who want to use worldwide education. The campuses of foreign universities will help our children get a worldwide education at 25 percent of the spending,” he said.
“A growing economy such as India needs a global workforce. The decision to set up foreign campuses here will help to achieve the goal and also save currency. Mumbai and its metropolitan region will come forward as a global educational hub,” the CM added.
During the press conference, Pradhan said that nine foreign universities set up campuses in the country, while there are six more in the pipeline.
“We focus on quality education for quality,” the Minister of Union added.
Fadnavis also announced that Gondwana University in Gadchiroli is affiliated with the University of West -Australia, which is considered the best in mining.
Our mine destination is gadchiroli, he said.
Fadnavis, tailored to fake 2020, said that the universities of the country helped to connect with global institutions and also to open campuses abroad.
IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and Symbiosis have set up campuses in Africa, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, he added.
