The Super Bowl LX rematch is officially in preparation. Seahawks and patriots veterans report camp today, July 24, at their respective facilities in Renton, Washington and Foxborough, Massachusetts, beginning the six-week sprint toward the September 9 season opener that puts the champion and the vanquished back on the same field.
Seattle: Defending Without Walker
The Seahawks’ first full-squad practice is tomorrow, July 25, with 10 sessions open to the public and Hard Knocks cameras documenting everything for HBO. The headline entering camp remains the departure of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III to the Chiefs, leaving rookie first-rounder Jadarian Price, free-agent pickup Emanuel Wilson, and the recovering Zach Charbonnet to fill a massive hole. Quarterback Sam Darnold returns as the starter, and coach Mike Macdonald’s Dark Side defense is largely intact, though depth losses in free agency need replacing.

New England: Closing the Gap
The Patriots were outclassed 29-13 in the Super Bowl and have spent the offseason trying to close that gap. Drake Maye returns at quarterback with a full year of starting experience, and the defense has been reinforced through the draft and free agency. New England’s camp opens at Gillette Stadium with the first padded practices scheduled for next week, and Maye’s development under a second-year system will be the single most important variable in whether the Patriots go from contender to genuine threat.
The Road to September 9
Both teams share an earlier reporting window than the rest of the league because of the Kickoff Game assignment. While most veterans do not report until July 28, the extra days give Seattle and New England a head start on installation and evaluation. The opener itself is a Wednesday night game at 8:20 PM ET on NBC from Lumen Field, the first Wednesday season opener since 2012, a quirk explained in our Week 1 schedule guide.
