Needed a victory in the worst way, the Mets scored early on Tuesday evening and often against the Braves to pick up a 13-5 victory and make a seven-game losing skid.
Before the fourth start in a row, Spencer Strider just didn’t have it. He was illuminated by the talented Mets -Line -Up for eight points over four innings. He gave eight hits and two walks over and threw only two while he didn’t get a lot of swing-and-miss. It is fair to ask whether Strider will get a wall of elbow surgery in his first year; Let’s hope this is the issue and not anything anymore.
It was a high -flying affair early. De Braves took a 1-0 lead, but the Mets struck with three runs in the second and two in the third to take a 5-1 lead.
With the game apparently in hand, Clay Holmes imploded for New York and the Braves tied it. Nacho Alvarez had a two-run double with the bases loaded first main class RBI and Jurickson Profar and Matt Olson both rode in a run to bring the score to 5-5.
Unfortunately, Strider immediately returned the match when three more points scored for New York in the second. The Mets would add two to Austin Cox in the fifth to bring the game out of reach despite the early fireworks.
The series will continue on Wednesday with a pitching matchup that does not inspire much trust. It will be Carlos Carrasco for the Braves against Lefty David Peterson for the Mets. First pitch at 7:10 pm et.
