Palmer set to return from injury: Chelsea XI vs Leeds United predicted

Chelsea were held to a draw by Arsenal this weekend, while Manchester City dropped to third place in the Premier League after their matchday win over Leeds United.

Nevertheless, they have a chance to stay in the title race when they take on Leeds United at Elland Road tomorrow night on Matchday 14 of the Premier League at 8.15pm local time.

Here’s a look at the team the Blues may go with for the match.

Goalkeeper – Robert Sanchez is expected to stay in goal for Chelsea again.

Defenders – Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana played well against Arsenal, and against a Leeds United side that troubled Man City last time out, Chelsea could stick with the duo at the heart of their back four.

However, Reece James could drop out to ensure his long-term fitness, with Malo Gusto playing at right-back, while Marc Cucurella is likely to close out the back four by starting at left-back.

Palmer back in the team

Midfielders – Moises Caicedo is suspended for the match following his red card against Arsenal, which could see Andrey Santos slot into the double pivot alongside Enzo Fernandez in Chelsea’s midfield. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer will return as attacking midfielder, with Enzo Maresca confirming in his pre-match press conference that the Englishman is fit to start.

Estevao Willian could be deployed on the right wing for the Londoners, while Pedro Neto could also outlast a number of fierce competitors on the left flank.

Come on – Joao Pedro is expected to take the lead at Chelsea, even though he made way for Liam Delap with 30 minutes to play against Arsenal this weekend.

This is what the Blues could look like on paper versus Leeds United.
