“He’s going to miss some time,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said. “He is still being monitored and diagnosed, but he did not look comfortable.”

Avs defenseman Devon Toews missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury. Saturday evening in the third period he crashed into the end boards and will miss some time, according to coach Bednar.
“He’ll miss some time, too,” Bednar said. “I don’t know how much yet. He will stay with us during the trip, but he will not play in Tampa. We will have him evaluated further and we will figure out a timeline when we get back to Denver.”
Matthew Tkachuk has an “effective” return date
Jameson Olive: Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk said he’ll travel with the team on their road trip, but isn’t sure if he’ll play: “If it were to happen, it would probably be towards the end just because I’m still in the non-contact jersey. I don’t even have a goal right now, whether it is or not.”
NHL: Panthers defenseman Seth Jones is being evaluated today. He suffered an upper-body injury on Saturday and is currently considered day-to-day.
David Pagnotta: Sources say Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev is meeting with a surgeon this week to determine his next steps. If surgery is required, he will likely be out until late April/early May.
NHL: Washington Capitals will continue to be evaluated today after suffering a lower-body injury on Saturday. He didn’t practice yesterday.
NHL Rumors: New York Rangers and the Edmonton Oilers
Caps forward Aliaksei Protas missed Saturday’s match and did not train yesterday due to a lower-body injury.
Coach Spencer Carbery yesterday: “I’ll talk to (general manager) Chris (Patrick) about that later today,” Carbery said. “‘Willy’ is being further evaluated, so we won’t have an update on him today. Protas (is) day to day, so we’ll see where he stands. But I don’t know the answer to that yet.”
